Clydene Triplett

CLYDENE TRIPLETT, age 70, died peacefully on May 2, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin Missouri surrounded by her family. Clydene was born July 21, 1943 in Carthage Missouri, the daughter of Clyde and Iona Lewis. She lived her entire life in Carthage, graduating from Carthage Senior High in 1961. She married her High School sweetheart Frank Triplett and shared a 53 year marriage. Frank and Clydene spent those 53 years loving and enjoying their three children, five grandchildren, family and cherished friends. With an unwavering faith in God, Clydene found her calling as a Sunday School teacher for over 40 years at The First United Methodist Church where she was an active lifetime member. Clydene’s passion was always for children. She cared for children in her home for many years and loved them like family. Clydene enjoyed watching them grow through the years, being part of their special milestones along the way. Also near and dear to her heart were the residents of Maple Tree where Clydene’s Mother had lived in her later years. After the death of her Mother, Clydene continued to make visits to Maple Tree with homemade cookies in hand and a servant’s heart to do whatever was asked of her. In later years, Clydene worked outside of the home starting her banking career in 1988 at Boatmen’s and working 24 years till her retirement from Hometown in 2012. She made many lasting friends with her coworkers and customers alike. Clydene adored her grandchildren and although none lived in Carthage she made it her mission to be a loving presence in their everyday life. A woman of faith and the heart of the Triplett family, Clydene shaped their spirituality by her tireless Christian example. Clydene lived an ordinary life in a quite extraordinary way by loving her husband, family, friends and church in a very deliberate way that will be missed in a million little moments now that she is gone. Clydene is survived by her husband; Frank Triplett. Three children and their spouses; Lora and Ron Freeman of Clearwater, Florida; Julie and Raja Chellappa of Wildwood, Missouri ; and Joshua Triplett of Clearwater, Florida. Five Grandchildren; Drake and Caroline Freeman; Sophia and Olivia Chellappa; and Madison Triplett. Nieces and Nephews; Cooper Lewis, Barry, Curtis and Trina Garner, Debra Burns and Mark Sill. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Iona Lewis and her brother George Lewis. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday May 8 at The First United Methodist Church in Carthage Missouri. The family will receive friends after the service in Fellowship Hall.
