March 19, 1959 - April 17, 2022

Carolyn Cornell Evans, 63, passed away April 17, 2022 in Joplin, Missouri. Carolyn was born March 19, 1959 to Ted B. Evans and Helen “Dottie” Daphne Cornell in Carthage, Missouri. She was a longtime resident of Carthage. Carolyn was a Special Education teacher. She started her career at Carthage R-9 schools, went on to Thomas Jefferson in Joplin, Missouri, then on to St. Ann’s school in Carthage, Missouri. Carolyn attended Grace Episcopal Church and then, later in life, joined St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Carthage, Missouri. She attained her Bachelors of Education – Special Education at William Woods Fulton. Carolyn was also involved in Stone’s Throw Community Theater in Carthage, Missouri. Carolyn is survived by one son, Justin (Dallas) Peternell of Joplin, Missouri; one step-son, Arron Peternell of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter, Allie (Nick) Pfeifer of Parsons, Kansas; one brother, Ted B. (Debbie) Evans, Jr. of The Villages, Florida; one sister, Pam (Mike) Robertson of Joplin, Missouri; three nephews, David (Amanda) Evans, Michael (Katie) Robertson and Ryan Robertson; four nieces, Sarah Evans, Melissa (Bill) Stremke, Sabrina (Andy) Lynch and Kirsten (Mike) Saiz; and five grandchildren, Jax, McLaren, Kennedy, Harrison and Baby Girl Pfeifer; Her significant other, Howie Lindeman. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and “Dottie” Evans. Carolyn's Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at her sister's home.
