Elaine Stanley

December 2, 1923 - April 17, 2022

On Sunday, April 17, 2022, Elaine Stanley, 98, heard “well done good and faithful servant” as she entered her heavenly home on Easter Sunday to join the celebration in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She left behind an amazing legacy. A legacy of devout faith, unconditional love and an unwavering dedication to her family. She was a true servant of the Lord to everyone she met. Even in her sickness, her focus was on everyone serving the Lord, especially her family. Elaine was born December 2, 1923 to Jesse Homer and Mary Ellen (Adams) Fawcett. She married Bert Stanley on August 2, 1942 in Bossier City, Louisiana just before his deployment overseas in the Army Air Corp. After his service, they eventually settled in Carthage, Missouri. Elaine worked at various jobs, but her last was school secretary at Hawthorne School in Carthage. She loved “her” kids at the school. After retirement she was a servant within her church and lovingly cared for all. Whether it was sending cards to ALL relatives and church family, buying “thinking of you” gifts, supplying a meal or making homemade ice cream. Elaine was preceded by her parents, Jesse and Mary Fawcett; her husband, Bert (1997); four sisters; three brothers; and one great granddaughter. Elaine is survived by her children, Ron Stanley (Pam) of Olathe, Kansas, Donna Ruppert (Dick) of Cleveland, Missouri, Coleen Smith (Howard) of Springfield, Missouri, and Joyce Patrick (Gerald) of Carthage, Missouri; her grandchildren, Angela Julson (Steve) of Kansas City, Missouri, Cindy Marriott (Michael) of Stover, Missouri, Anissa Engel of Topeka, Kansas, Nathan Patrick (Kelly) of Carthage, Missouri, Scott Smith (Brooke) of Springfield, Missouri, Eric Stanley (Tiya) of Norwalk, Iowa, Jared Patrick (Leslie) of Carthage, Missouri, Alicia Zornes (Stephen) of Carl Junction, Missouri and Caleb Patrick (Annie) of Carthage, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Bob Stanley of Escondido, California; thirty great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. Visitation will be Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 12:00-1:30 at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Carthage. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hearts & Hammers, P.O. Box 8083 Joplin, MO 64801 or Three Point Full Gospel Church, 17811 Old 66 Blvd Carthage, MO 64836. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
