Kenneth Eugene Hoofnagle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kenneth Eugene Hoofnagle, 97 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on July 5, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Carthage. Mr. Hoofnagle was born August 18, 1924, in Sheldon, Missouri to Murle and Vida (Royer) Hoofnagle. He graduated from Carthage High School in 1941. He married Marjorie Lorraine (Swindle) Hoofnagle. They lived on the farm for 39 years until they retired and moved to Carthage. Gene was a member on the board committee at ASC for 16 years with Production Credit Association for 45 years. Worked as a board member for PCA 20 years. Was a member of First Christian Church of Carthage. He was a past president of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class and served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a member of MFA for years and has helped with the hospital equipment for many years later, as the chairman. He loved the outdoors; he was an avid sports man. He was a member of the National Rifle Association; he loved hunting and fishing. He hunted for Elk and Deer in Colorado and was also a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Survivors include one son Larry and wife Mary Jo Hoofnagle; two grandchildren, Kari Jo Brosnan and Kristopher Hoofnagle both from Camden Point, Missouri; two nieces Marilyn Chistensen and Rhela Allen; two nephews Glen Brown and Bob Brown. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Lorraine Hoofnagle; his parents Murle and Vida Hoofnagle; one brother; one sister Nanna Belle McAllister; and one nephew Tony Brown. An open visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage Missouri on Friday, July 8, 2022. Condolences may be made online at www.ulmerfh.com.
