Mary Stuart Ogden

April 4, 1944 - June 6, 2021

Mary Stuart Ogden went to be with the Lord on Sunday June 6th 2021. She was the 1st born of Maxine Ellis Stuart and John Kelly Stuart. She was born during WWII on 4/4/44 in Stark City, MO. She has 7 younger siblings; John, David, Jim, Joe, Mark, Susie and Steve. She met her husband David Ogden at a youth fellowship rally. She moved to Carthage when they married in 1961. She is preceded in death by her husband David, her son Davy and her brother David Lee. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Tonk) Pugh, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She led an exciting life. She was a great beauty and was offered a modeling job in Chicago when she was 28. She turned down the offer. She wanted to be in ministry for the Lord. Her and husband were church starters one of which was in Granby that was formerly a roadside bar. Living Waters Fellowship is one of the churches that she and her husband David started and it’s still active today. She was a believer of women in the ministry. She was also ahead of her time. She was a generous encourager. She would listen and never judge. She was the kindest, nicest, sweetest woman. She had a story to tell and was always having fun no matter what she was doing. She followed her husband everywhere and participated in everything he did. Cave hunting, weekends at the creek, metal detecting at Civil War battlefield sites and walking freshly plowed fields looking for arrowheads to name a few. She loved reading mysteries and was part sleuth. She loved beautiful colors and fabrics and for years made herself, family and friends clothing. She often talked about having music in her soul and could sing any song for any occasion. She was extremely smart but didn’t show off or brag because she was too busy laughing. She knew how to be happy and she found happiness in her Savior and Lord Jesus, her family and life. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Living Waters Fellowship in Stark City MO at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12th 2021.
