February 17, 1940 - September 13, 2019

Patty “Curry” Houston, 79, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Patty was born February 17, 1940 in Carthage to Joseph Curry, Sr. and Ogla “Harp” Curry. She was a lifetime resident of Carthage and worked as a cook at several restaurants in the area. Patty is survived by two sons, Ammon F. Guinn (Jo) and William Guinn (Sherri), both of Carthage; two daughters, Susan E. Bledsoe (Tim) of Moore, OK and Elizabeth A. Guinn of Carthage; one sister, Agnes Waisner of Carthage; 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Patty was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Alice Owens; four brothers, Joe Curry, Jr., Gerald Curry, Albert Curry and Everett Curry. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
