Gloria A Stafford

Gloria A. (Gerald) Stafford, 60, after a long illness, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 2:45 p.m. in Carthage. She was born on January 29, 1950 in Carthage, MO. She is the daughter of the late Joe Gerard and Alberta Gerard. Gloria graduated from Carthage High School and was a lifetime resident of Carthage. She worked at various locations in the area, office manager for Tuxall Uniforms, an office clerk for Dr. Peter Richardson, Secretary for the Carthage Fire Department, deputy clerk in the County Clerk’s office for voter registration and a county clerk in the Assessor’s office was also a licensed real estate agent in the state of Missouri. Gloria married Donald E. Stafford on October 5, 1985, he survives. She is also survived by her son Stacy L. Beasley, Chaplain (Cpt.) US Army currently serving his country in Iraq and his wife Lori; step-daughter, Christina Jo Stafford and step-son, Douglas Stafford; grandchildren, Samara Beasley and Micah Beasley who reside at Ft. Hood, TX.; step-grandsons, Jacob and Brandon Stafford, Nathan and Nicholas Flood who reside in Ohio. Additional survivors include, her mother Alberta Gerard and sisters, Jody Neatherry and Daily Doss, Amy Silvers and Rick of Carthage and Marilee Budd and Ron Hurlbut of Alba, MO. Nephews James Neatherry, Blake and Scott Silvers, Sean Holman and Seth and Matt Wilkins and one niece Kitt Budd; mother in-law, Pauline Stafford and sister in-law, Betty Snider. Gloria was a loving wife, very proud mother and grandmother that idolized her two granddaughters. She was a kind and generous person and was loved by all. She lived by her motto “The differences we make in another person’s life each day will be all that counts when we are gone” and she made a big difference in the lives of many people and has left a huge void. There cannot be enough accolades for this wonderful person. Her presence made the world a better place in which to live. Services are at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010 also at Ulmer’s. Burial will be in Fullerton Cemetery, Carthage. In Lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.
