Ronald E Snyder

“The Dragon Slayer has won the Battle” Ronald E. Snyder, 67 of Carthage, was born on August 7, 1943 and went home to join his mother, father and three children in heaven on July 7, 2011 after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Ron considered it a privilege to work and he truly enjoyed work. He worked at H.E. Williams for 47 years, working with three generations of the Williams’s family. He started his career as a draftsman and retired as President of the company. He also served on the Board of Directors for several years. A good day for Ron was a day at work! He was a Christian and a member of the First Christian Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class. Ron was a dedicated supporter of the Carthage Crisis Center, a member of the Steering Committee for Spring River Christian Village. He was a supporter of the Carthage R-9 Foundation. There are no words that can accurately and adequately describe Ron. Some that come to mind are compassionate, strong, triumphant, wise & patient to name a few. Ron was thoroughly organized in every aspect of his life. He was a meticulous planner and always prepared and a detail man. Ron was a man of honor and integrity and loved his family without question especially is grandchildren. Survivors would include his wife and soul mate, Margaret “Patterson” Snyder whom he married on August 10, 1963 in Carthage. Additional survivors are, son, Rusty Snyder and wife Kim, their three children, Kally, Jake and Taylor; Daughter, Robyn McKee and husband Tim, their three children, Abby, Ian and Anna; Son Timothy Snyder, son, Eliot Ballard and wife Liz and child Preston, a sister, Vickie Hammontree and a brother, John Snyder. Ron is preceded in death by three children, Randy, Ronda and Tony, his parents Elgan and Elene Snyder. Ron’s wishes were granted: Private burial services were held with his family at sunset on the day of his passing. A life celebration will be held on Ron’s birthday, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 7, 2011 and will be held at H.E. Williams, Inc. Contributions may be given to the Carthage Crisis Center in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are under the directions of Ulmer Funeral Home.
